A Look at James Walker

James Walker is one of the best small school players California has to offer this year. He is taking a hard look at Colorado.

Weight: 175
40 time: 4.46

As a junior, James Walker had 128 tackles, nine passes broken up, four forced fumbles, two sacks, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. Walker was named first team all-league at free safety. "I have a desire to play the game and I attack the the ball at full force," he says.

Calvary Chapel assistant coach Scott Enyeart says of Walker, "He has great flexibility and is very smart on the field. If we could clone him, we would. He is a total team player. He is also the number one ranked student in our junior class."

The defensive back will most likely end up at corner with his size and Scout.com will get a good look at him next month when he attends our L.A. combine.

Walker is listing five schools, in order, at this point. "My favorite is Notre Dame, followed by UCLA, Colorado, USC, and Oklahoma.

"Notre Dame is a school I have always wanted to attend."

"He is a big-time Irish fan, explains Enyeart. "He would probably go there if they offer him."

UCLA may be the first school to offer. "They say they are close to offering - they really like him. They just need to see more film at this point."

Coach Cabral is after Walker for CU. "I like the area of Colorado and they seem to have a real good staff," Walker said.

The Buffs and Bruins are showing him the most attention.

Walker carries a 4.3 core GPA on a 4.0 scale. He scored a 1200 on the SAT but will be taking it again in hopes of a much higher score. Walker is thinking of majoring in Communications.
