As a junior, Scott Saunders was 205-296 passing with a 69.3 completion rate. He threw for 3,301 yards and 26 touchdowns. Out of 21 punts, he dropped eight within the opponents' 20 and averaged 40.76 per. On PAT's, he was 58-61 and 3-3 on field goals with a long of 38. Saunders was named first team all-league and CIF at quarterback. "I have a great knowledge of the game," he says. "I know defenses well and I can break them down pre-snap and post-snap. I am a field general out there."

Schools are looking at him as a quarterback and free saftey. With his diminutive size for signal caller, defense is most likely where his future lies. "I can play anything; quarterback, safety, kicker or punter."

Saunders enjoyed his visit to Boulder. "I really liked the academic support they had there. I think they run a real clean house. They have good athletes and good people involved with that program."

He likes CU, along with Penn, Harvard, Duke, Georgia Tech, Oregon State, and Fresno State. "I may visit Fresno State and Oregon State for their junior days."

Saunders carries a 4.75 core GPA on a 4.0 scale as he takes all honors courses. He scored a 1200 on his SAT and will take it again in June. The athlete is unsure of what he will major in.
