Buffs Getting After Arizona Lineman

Colorado needs a lot of help in the trenches on both sides of the ball and they are looking all over to find it. Arizona is one of those places they are looking where players like Jermaine Williams, John Romero Jr. and Jon Hargis reside. Another player in the Grand Canyon State CU is taking a hard look at is Cody Anderson from Apache Junction High School. Anderson has four offers to his name and more can be expected to come.

Cody Anderson currently has written offers from UTEP, Wyoming, Colorado State, and New Mexico State.

As a junior, he had 49 tackles, four sacks, four forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries. On offense, he caught six passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Anderson was named first team all-region on defense. He was also a first team all-state selection in basketball. "I am not the strongest player but I will not be beat by the competition. It does not matter how good they are. I play the game with a lot of heart."

He is a two-way star for Apache Junction so schools see him at different positions. "Of the schools that have offered me, I know Wyoming likes me as an offensive tackle and Colorado State likes me as a tight end. I have played at offensive tackle, tight end, defensive tackle, and defensive end, so I can play any position. I kind of prefer defensive end, but I will play wherever I am needed."

Anderson plays center on the basketball team at Apache Junction. He also plays for the Arizona Stars club team. "I might be recruited in basketball. I have always been an Arizona fan in basketball so it would be great to play for them."

Coach Hagan recruits AZ for Colorado and he has been by Anderson's school. "I know Colorado has a beautiful environment. It is really clean up there. It is a little cold, but not bad. I like them and Colorado State."

He mentions the other schools he is currently interested in. "I also like Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, and Wyoming. I would like to go to the school I can help out the most."

Anderson carries a 3.15 core GPA and would like to major in Physical Therapy. He is re-taking the SAT on August 6th.
