Douglas County Duo

Lineman Eric Lawson and Tight End Steven Fendry already have two offers apiece. They will both be attending CU's one-day camp on June 19th and they could walk away with offers from the Buffs. We get their thoughts on Colorado.

Name: Steven Fendry
Height: 6-5
Weight: 235
40 time: 4.87
Bench: 275
Squat: 440
Clean: 315
Vertical:'29
From: Castle Rock, Colorado
High School: Douglas County

As a junior, Fendry was named second team all-conference. "My biggest strength is my size," he explains.

Fendry has written offers from Wyoming and Colorado State. "I like both of them, plus Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona State, and Washington. I would like to play in the Big 12 or Pac Ten if I can."

He elaborates on his interest in the Buffs. "They are in the Big 12 and they are the biggest football school in the state. If I am going to stay in-state, that is where I would like to go. But, it doesn't matter to me whether or not I leave the state."

The entire Douglas County team will be taking in the Wyoming team camp, beginning Wednesday. Fendry also plans on going to the CU camp, June 19th, plus the Washington and Iowa State camps. "I would like to commit somewhere before the season so I want to see a few places first."

The tight end carries a 2.5 core GPA and scored a 23 on the ACT. He is unsure of what he would like to major in.

Name: Eric Lawson
Height: 6-4
Weight: 265
40 time: 4.9
Bench: 355
Squat: 525
Clean: 335
Vertical:'30
From: Castle Rock, Colorado
High School: Douglas County

As a junior, Lawson was named honorable mention all-conference on defense. "I have never gone up against any player stronger than me," he says. "I am quick and aggressive."

Lawson says that most schools like him as an offensive lineman even though he will play defensive tackle and tight end this fall, too. Like his teammate, he has written offers from Colorado State and Wyoming.

"My top schools are Colorado, Colorado State and Wyoming. I also like Kansas State and Iowa State.

"I like the location of CU, the team, the facilities, and the staff. I kind of grew up a fan of them and have been to a lot of games."

He, like Fendry, would also like to commit fairly soon. "I want to commit before the summer ends."

Lawson will be heading to the Wyoming camp this Wednesday, and will also attend CU's one-day affair on the 19th of June.

He carries a 3.0 core GPA and scored a 21 on the ACT. The lineman would like to major in Secondary Education.

Both are being recruited to CU by Tight Ends Coach John Wristen.
