"I am heading to Iowa State on Wednesday," explained Kris Means. "I am leaving from there on Saturday and flying into Denver. Then I'll be attending a three-day camp at CU, starting on Sunday. Later this month, I will be attending a camp at UCLA and next month I will attend a camp at Colorado State, plus another one at CU. I was at Arizona State last weekend."
His top three comes from this group. "My top schools are ASU, UCLA and CU. I don't really have a leader - they are all close."
He received some good news from the CU staff last week. "Coach Wristen told me he was extending a scholarship to me and then put me on the phone with Coach Barnett. Barnett told me they really liked me and looked forward to seeing me at their camp. I told them that the scholarship really meant a lot to me and I thanked them for it. I have liked CU for a long time so it felt good to get that scholarship."
Means went on to say that the staff did not elaborate on whether they would be sending it to him in the mail or presenting it to him in person while in Boulder this weekend.
Interested parties see him at different positions. "Colorado and Iowa State like me as a fullback/linebacker. ASU and UCLA have said they like me at linebacker. I kind of like defense more, but it does not matter to much what side of the ball I play on."
His parents have a school they are currently leaning to. "My parents like Arizona State mainly because I have a lot of family in Arizona. They are spread out. I have relatives in Show Low, Casa Grande, Tucson, and Phoenix."
Means plans on making his decision after attending all camps and campuses. "My goal is to decide on a college before the season starts."
