Cody Habben describes himself as a lineman that has quick feet and pulls very well. He is being recruited by schools as an offensive guard and tackle. "I prefer to play tackle," he states.
As a junior, Habben was selected honorable mention all-conference. He has current written offers from Washington State, Idaho, Indiana, Utah, and most recently he received one from Colorado. "I also have a verbal offer from Oregon State."
These are six of his top schools, plus he likes Nebraska. "I just returned from their camp and I was born in Omaha and return there very often. Just about my whole family lives in Iowa and Nebraska, so we go back every year. Nebraska was my favorite school growing up, but I am open to everyone right now. I like the schools that are showing me the most interest."
One of those schools is obviously Colorado. "They have had a lot of scandals lately, but they have always been a good team. They have won a lot of Big 12 north titles and they also won the Big 12 one year and the national title back in 1990. It is a pretty prestigious place to play football."
Coach Bray is after him for CU.
His parents have their own ideas of where they would like him to go to school. "I know they would prefer if I stayed around here or went back in the midwest somewhere."
Habben will now be heading to Idaho, Washington State and Oregon State on unofficial visits. "I am going with a buddy of mine and we'll be there when they are having camps, but I will not be participating, just he will."
The lineman carries a 2.5 core GPA and has yet to receive his SAT score. He would like to major in something that has to do with the outdoors or sports.
