In-State Lineman Excited About Colorado Offer

Colorado's Big Man Camp is held every summer and attracts many of the best lineman in the region. It gives the CU coaches a chance to get a better look at lineman they are thinking about offering. Coming into the camp, Eric Lawson, from Douglas County HS in Castle Rock was one of the offensive lineman the staff wanted a better evaluation of. They apparently were really impressed with what they saw as Lawson now has a written offer from CU. Where are the Buffs on his list?

Eric Lawson now has three written offers; Colorado State, Wyoming and CU. "I went to one day of CU's three-day camp and after the camp I got an offer, in writing, from Colorado. I was real excited about it."

Do the Buffs hold any kind of advantage for the Colorado native? "I have no favorite between the three schools that have offered me."

It doesn't sound like his parents do, either. "They are just happy that schools are offering me full-ride scholarships."

Kansas State and Iowa State are two other schools that were previously on Lawson's list, but according to the lineman, their interest has dwindled.

Coach Wristen is after Lawson for the Buffs. "They just like me as an offensive lineman. They have not specified to me what position on the line they want me at. It doesn't matter to me what spot I play."

In a previous update with the Buffalo Sports News, the lineman had this to say regarding CU. "I like the location of CU, the team, the facilities, and the staff. I kind of grew up a fan of them and have been to a lot of games. I want to commit before the summer ends."

Does he stand by the statement that he would like to commit soon? "I am not really sure at this point. We'll just see what happens."

Lawson says Colorado is recruiting the hardest at this point. He will only make one more visit this summer. "I am going up to Colorado State this Sunday to check things out a little more."

He will not be in attendance at CU's camp, July 31st.
