Keaton Kristick injured his wrist in a pre-season scrimmage and it was thought at the time that he might miss a few games. "The doctors looked at some X-rays and it was hard to tell what even happened," he explained. "It was some kind of fracture but I am fine. I just play with a cast on and it is no problem."
Through two games, he has 24 tackles and one and a half sacks on defense. On offense, he has rushed for three touchdowns. "I only played in two and a half quarters in the first game because it was a blowout."
Kristick has written offers from Oregon State, Colorado State, New Mexico, Northwestern, UTEP, San Diego State, Utah, Wyoming, and Boise State. "Right now, I really like Northwestern, Oregon, Oregon State, Colorado, Colorado State, UTEP, and Utah. It is hard for me to narrow things down because all of these schools have great things to offer."
Most colleges see Kristick as an outside linebacker/defensive end. Colorado State is giving him the option to play on either side of the ball. The Rams like him as an H-back on offense.
He plans on visiting Northwestern for the Michigan game. That is his only official visit scheduled at this time.
Kristick watched the end of the CU-CSU game a couple weeks ago and had this to say. "That was a pretty crazy ending. Coach Hagan called me that Sunday and told me that they are kind of down on linebackers and could use a guy like me. I had gone up there to speak with the staff at their summer camp, but I had a pulled hamstring and couldn't compete. I look forward to trying to get there again for another visit."
St. Mary's takes on Trevor Browne, this Friday.
