Defensive End Visiting CU for A&M Game

Colorado is always looking to add more defensive lineman because quality depth is so important at the position. Especially when it gets into the late third quarter and fourth quarter of a game under the flatirons and fresh bodies are needed to rush the opponent's quarterback. CU has offered Moreno Valley, California big athlete D'Aundre Reed and he'll be in Boulder visiting this weekend. Reed is currently favoring the Buffs.

As a junior, D'Aundre Reed had 16 receptions and two touchdowns on offense. On defense, he had two sacks and two pass break-ups. The big athlete could play at defensive end, tight end or outside linebacker in college. "I don't care where I play, but if I were to choose a spot it would probably be defensive end, and I don't have a problem with playing linebacker, either," Reed says.

Most schools see him as a defensive end first, outside linebacker second. "Colorado and Arizona have offered me and that is where they like me."

He feels he has the goods to play on the end. "I have good quickness and I do well at outside containment. I am also good at blowing up the strong guard and rushing the passer."

Reed was offered after CU's three-day camp over the summer and has the Buffs at the top of his current list. "I like Colorado, Fresno State, Arizona, and Nebraska. I would say Colorado is in the lead. I like the facilities there and the teams they play. I also like the coaches."

Coach Cabral is after him for the Buffs.

The prospect claims his mother favors Fresno State and his father favors Colorado. "My parents might both go on the Colorado trip. Either both of them will go, just my father will go, or I will go by myself. I'll find out on Thursday. My father thinks they have a good program out there."

His only other visit scheduled at this point is to Fresno State on December 17th. "I want to check out my options before deciding so I will hold off on a commitment for now."

He'll be making the trek to Fresno with teammate Jonathan Hawkins. Hawkins will be joining him on his visit to Boulder this weekend. "We would like to go to the same school. We'll just have to see how it works out."

Reed has 10 tackles and one sack on the year for 3-1 Rancho Verde.

He carries a 3.0 core GPA and is taking the ACT on October 22nd. Reed would like to major in Architecture.
