Oklahoma Commit Visiting Colorado

Jeremy Maclin committed to the Oklahoma Sooners back in August, but since then has said he is still interested in visiting other schools. One of them appears to be Colorado, and the Kirkwood, Missouri wideout is expected in Boulder for the Texas A&M game. Colorado is looking heavily at the receiver position for playmakers in this class and Maclin fits that mold to a T.

As a junior, Jeremy Maclin had 55 receptions for 1,200 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also had 22 carries for 206 yards and three touchdowns. On special teams, he returned two kicks. On defense, he tallied 59 tackles (39 solo), six interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Through four games this fall, he has rushed 10 times for 140 yards with two touchdowns and caught nine passes for 174 yards with two of those going for scores. Not only does Kirkwood use him on offense, they also take advantage of Maclin's special talent on defense and special teams, where he has excelled at both. He has a punt return for a touchdown and on defense, he has two picks.

The Buffalo Sports News had been trying to get a hold of Maclin for days to confirm his official trip to Colorado this weekend, and his coach confirmed it for us. "I know he is going to Colorado, I don't know if it is for an official visit, but I know he is going," said Kirkwood Head Coach Larry Frost. "Him and I don't sit down and talk much recruiting, but I know after he committed to Oklahoma he may have felt he orally committed a little soon. Some schools he is still looking at are Colorado, Texas Tech, UCLA, and Missouri. The Oklahoma coaches know that he is planning on making trips."

The BSN will try to catch up with Maclin on Sunday night for his thoughts on Boulder.
