Joseph Returns From Boulder

One of two visitors this weekend, corner prospect Vincent Joseph did not have glowing remarks about his trip to Boulder. The Long Beach Poly product says he is still interested in the Buffs, but Colorado did not move up on his list after the trip.

"It was okay," said an underwhelmed Vincent Joseph about his recruiting visit to Boulder. "It was just not that exciting to me. First off, they were playing Kansas and the game was not even close. I was sitting there in the fourth quarter thinking about how cold and bored I was. I mean, Colorado physically beat them down. The game was not even close. When I went to Washington State last week they had an exciting game that went into overtime against UCLA. I just had more fun up there than I did in Boulder.

"Terry Washington and Gardner McKay were my hosts and we just sat in the dorm room and played video games. I had a 12 o'clock curfew and we didn't do anything. Plus, it was family weekend and most the players were hanging out with their girlfriends and parents. The trip was just very mediocre."

It was not all bad for Joseph as he did see some good things in CU. "They have a lot of tradition there and that Buffalo that runs out before the game is real cool. Their defensive back coach told me he thinks I can come in and play since they have guys graduating and not much coming back. I also liked the strength and conditioning coach. He showed me a lot of new machines they have there that I would love to try out."

The Buffs are now on the outside looking in, according to the corner. "They didn't move up for me. I like Oregon followed by Washington State. USC will be in front of everyone if they offer and they might from what people are telling me. I am definitely going to take the trip to Oregon (Nov. 5th) even if 'SC does offer. I am also still looking at Colorado and Cal. The only thing with Cal is that I have not heard from them for a couple weeks. Washington also just offered two weeks ago so I am looking at them a little."

Poly blew out an opponent for the second week in a row last Friday as they beat Long Beach Cabrillo 65-0. They have a very important game coming up against Compton High, this Friday. "They have been talking a lot of stuff so this is a big game for us since we are in the same league."
