Pope Will Definitely Visit Colorado

When speaking about players with upside along the west coast no one jumps out more than Cody Pope from University High in San Diego. The former defensive end is getting his first taste of the offensive line this fall and it is almost like he has been playing the position his whole life. CU was the first school to offer and now eight others have followed. We get the latest on the big man.

Cody Pope now has written offers from Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Washington, Washington State, UTEP, Idaho, and San Diego State. "I have one more but I can't think of who it is right now," Pope says. "My top schools are San Diego State, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and Washington. I do not have a favorite yet. I want to finish out the season and take my visits."

Only one school will get a visit from Pope during his fall slate. "I am going to Utah on November 5th and then I'll take the rest of my visits after the season. I will definitely visit Colorado, Arizona and Utah, officially. I might not visit SDSU officially because it is so close and I am waiting to see on Washington. They offered me recently and I want to see how hard they recruit me. I would say I am being recruited the hardest by Colorado, Arizona and Utah.

"When I talk to Colorado I usually speak with Coach Cabral, and then sometimes I speak with Coach Borbely. I have been watching Colorado play a little bit. I watched the Texas A&M game. They are just smashing people this year."

University High is 5-2 on the season and Pope does not have any stats on record. "I know I get a few pancakes a game - especially in the open field. I am starting to come into my own a little bit on offense. I have never played it before and they have me at guard."

Pope says that his parents currently have their favorites. "My mom likes Arizona right now. She watched them play USC and was pretty impressed. She also really likes Coach (Arizona Running Backs Coach Kasey) Dunn. He has made a good impression on her.

"My father likes San Diego State because of the connection with Ed White. He is an old family friend."

University takes on San Diego Morse, tonight.
