Clarke to Visit This Weekend

Scripps Ranch High in San Diego is home to one of the fastest wide receiver prospects along the west coast, Michael Clarke. The blazer was offered by Colorado over two months ago and will be in Boulder this weekend. He could make a decision on a school as soon as Thanksgiving.

Michael Clarke has written offers from Colorado and Cal. "Colorado was the first school to really come in on me and they offered over two months ago," explained the receiver.

On the season, he has 30 catches for 673 yards and nine touchdowns. He also two touchdowns on special teams returning kicks and punts. "I have great speed and awareness on the field."

Clarke is looking hard at three schools. "I like Colorado, UCLA and Cal. Colorado and UCLA are my favorites. UCLA has not offered me because they are waiting on Terrence Austin. They say that if he doesn't commit there, they'll offer.

"Colorado plays in the Big 12 which is a major conference and they are ranked in the top 25. Coach Hagan is a good guy. He tells me that I can come in and compete as a true freshman at receiver and as a kick and punt returner. Colorado is probably recruiting me harder than anyone. I am going there this weekend for a visit."

The San Diego product may make a couple more visits in December. "I might visit Cal and Boston College in December. I could make my college decision by Thanksgiving. Even if I do commit, I might take a couple more visits unless the school I am committed to does not approve of it."

Clarke's parents do not have a favorite.

He carries a 3.87 core GPA and scored a 29 on the ACT. He would like to major in Business.

Scripps Ranch takes on Morse, this Friday.
