"I had a good time on my visit to Colorado," Gabe Miller said. "It was a short visit because I had a game on Friday night and flew in Saturday morning but we were able to squeeze in a lot of things. I was able to see everything I needed to, and my father joined me on the visit. They are definitely a contender for me.
"I was able to sit down with Coach Wristen and he told me that both tight ends are leaving and there is going to be a void at the spot. He says there is a good chance for me to come in and play early."
Coach Bray is the primaray recruiter for Miller. The big athlete has written offers from CU, Oregon and Oregon State. He already visited Oregon and is planning a visit to Cal for December 17th. "Colorado is recruiting me as a tight end and the other schools are recruiting me as an athlete. It doesn't matter to me what side of the ball I play on."
Miller grew up in Crested Butte until the age of 10. His father has been living there for 16 years. "I kind of grew up a CU fan. I always really liked Michigan as a child, but I also followed Colorado. I kind of consider Colorado as my home."
Would he like to play closer to his father? "I think both my parents kind of prefer me to stay close to them without really coming out and saying it."
Miller is not ready to rush into a decision. "I will probably decide near the end of December or in early January."
Lake Oswego is 9-0 and heading into the playoffs this weekend. He plays fullback, tight end, wide receiver, and linebacker for his squad.
