An Update With Wes Simon

Wes Simon committed to Colorado back in August over offers from 17 other schools. Some colleges, like Oklahoma, have not given up on him. The Sooners are hot on his trail. Can he be swayed? Simon will be visiting Boulder for the Nebraska game.

As a junior, Wes Simon had 88 pancake blocks and only allowed one sack. Simon was named first team all-district, area and state (for juniors).

As a senior, he had 96 pancake blocks on offense. On defense, at tackle, in three games, he had 14 tackles (three for losses), three sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble. Plano West finished their season at 6-4 barely missing the playoffs.

Simon committed to Colorado in August. "The coaches at Colorado are exactly like the ones at my high school," Simon said. "The campus at Colorado is gorgeous and they are always winning the Big 12 North and competing for the Big 12 crown. My family and I are very comfortable with my decision to go there. Other schools, like Oklahoma, are still calling me. Oklahoma has been calling me off the hook. It doesn't matter who offers, though, I am solid on Colorado."

Before committing to Colorado, Simon had offers from everyone in the Big 12, except Texas and and OU, the entire Conference USA, and Northwestern, Illinois, and Iowa. "It came down to Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, and SMU."

Defensive Line Coach Bill Inge recruited him for the Buffs.

Simon plays tackle at Plano West, but Colorado likes him as a guard or center. "I have great speed and strength. I play the game with a lot of aggression. I never leave my feet. I don't care if my block is across the field, I never stop on a play."

He will take his official visit to Boulder for the Nebraska game.
