Chris Mitchell was a first team all district, metro and state selection as a junior after making 65 catches for 1,500 yards and 12 touchdowns. This year, he played in only six games due to the shortened season caused by Hurricane Katrina. Mitchell played strictly at quarterback and so far he knows he received all-district honors. "My team needed me at quarterback this fall, but I prefer to play receiver and that is where I am being recruited," he explained. "I have the ability to make plays. I can catch the ball well and run good routes."
He has not taken any visits yet, but that will change in a couple days. "I am visiting Colorado on Thanksgiving. I don't know much about them at all. I just know that some guys from my school have gone there. I have watched them play before - they are all right."
The receiver will also visit LSU on December 9th. "I know I will also visit Mississippi in December, and Tennessee and Miami in January sometime. I don't want to say who my top school is right now. I am just going to take my trips and see what happens."
Mitchell says that his family does not have a favorite and is leaving the decision completely up to him.
LSU is recruiting the hardest.
Mitchell carries a 2.5 core GPA. He is thinking of majoring in Engineering.
