Goethel Still Looking at Colorado?

If anyone watched what A.J. Hawk did to Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl yesterday, you saw a linebacker that could do it all; tackle, read, blitz, cover, etc. That is the exact kind of linebacker Travis Goethel is (they even look alike!). Goethel was scheduled to visit CU before the coaching change and the San Diego Section Defensive Player of the Year is now deciding if that is still going to happen.

Travis Goethel has as much upside as any linebacker in California this cycle. He has current written offers from Colorado, Washington, Utah, Nebraska, Oregon State, and San Diego State. He has already visited Oregon State, Washington and Utah. "Utah and Washington are my top two," Goethel explains. "I also kind of like Oregon State and San Diego State. I am going to take an official visit to USC the weekend of January 13th. They haven't offered me but one of their coaches is coming down this week to talk to me."

The nation's No.48 linebacker recorded 155 tackles, eight sacks, five interceptions (two for touchdowns), one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery as a senior.

Does this productive 'backer have any current interest in the Buffs? "I am not really sure. Coach Cabral left me a message a week ago and I am waiting to hear from him, again. I guess after talking to him I'll decide if I should still visit. He has told me about all the linebackers he has put into the league."

The BSN will speak with Goethel again real soon to see if that visit gets scheduled.
