Beatty Gives "Soft" Verbal (free content)

The Hawai'i state defensive player of the year loved his trip to CU over the weekend. B.J. Beatty, nephew of former Buff great and current Jacksonville Jaguar, Chris Naeole, gave the CU staff a soft verbal on Sunday and that verbal becoming more firm depends on his trip next weekend.

"Colorado has some good people," B.J. Beatty said. "I really like the atmosphere around the program."

Beatty was hosted on the visit by junior linebacker, Chad Cusworth. "I had a good time with my host and with the other recruits. One guy committed, Jason Brace, and I gave a soft verbal to Coach Cabral. It is a soft one because I told him I am still going to Boise State next weekend and I want to compare the two. After that trip, I will decide."

A coach from Boise will be at his house on Tuesday and new CU defensive coordinator, Ron Collins, will be in his home on Wednesday. "I like Coach Collins. He is real cool and fun to be around."

Beatty had a chance to speak with Uncle Chris a couple weeks ago and the former Buff had some choice words for him. "He told me to enjoy my trips and that after I visited Colorado he didn't think there would be much competition."

New Mexico State had also been in line for a visit. "They called my coach and told him they are full so they can't take me. I won't be visiting there now."

The Buffalo Sports News will speak with Beatty after his Boise trip to see where he stands.
