Tevaseu Has CU in Final Three (Free Content)

Martin Tevaseu visited Colorado a couple weeks ago and had a great trip. He is taking one last trip, to Arizona State, this weekend and then he'll make a decision. The big defensive tackle will have four years to play three and would be a huge coup for the new staff. He lets the Buffalo Sports News know his current thoughts on recruiting.

As a freshman, Martin Tevaseu had 40 tackles, five sacks and three deflected passes. Tevaseu was named first team all-conference.

As a senior in high school, he was named All-NorCal Conference.

Tevaseu has taken three visits; Boise State, Colorado and most recently, BYU. His last visit is upcoming, to Arizona State, this weekend. He has offers from all these schools, plus Arizona, Marshall and Louisiana-Lafayette. "My top three are Arizona State, Boise State and Colorado. I like BYU, too, but they just started recruiting me last Friday. They basically called me Friday and asked me to take a trip right then and I did."

The big D-tackle is Mormon but he will not go on a mission.

He had a great time in Boulder two weeks ago. "It was really nice - I liked it a lot. "They are very strong academically which is the most important thing to me. I also hear they have a new academic advisor who is Polynesian. They look like they have a depth chart where I could come in and play. I am not sure if I would start, but from what I saw, and based on my abilities, I think I could play pretty soon."

Just what are those abilities? "I have a great attitude and I am very persistent on the field. I never give up out there."

Tevaseu had been recruited by Coaches (Chris) Strausser and (Romeo) Bandison while they were still at Boise State, and the two are also leading the way on his recruitment for the new CU staff. "They came by a couple of weeks ago and I am going to see them again, tomorrow, when they come by Santa Rosa. My house is kind of far, so they'll be meeting me at the school."

The lineman will finish up at the JC in May and be ready to transfer come this summer.

His decision on a school will come next week. "After I get back from Arizona State, I will let the coaches know where I'm going."

Tevaseu would like to major in Business.

Talk about this on the Ralphie's Den MESSAGE BOARD.
