As a senior, Sherman Lang played quarterback and passed for 900 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named the offensive player of the year for his league. As a junior, he had 27 receptions for 421 yards. Lang is being recruited specifically as a receiver for the next level. He committed to West Virginia after visiting there officially on the weekend of January 13th. Now things have changed with his recruitment after the weekend trip to Boulder.
CU is right in the mix now. "My trip there was nice," Lang said. "I really liked the campus and the facilities. The stadium was also cool."
Lang has written offers from West Virginia, CU, Florida Atlantic, Nebraska, Mississippi, Rutgers, and Florida International. He says he will make his final decision on signing day. "Everything is up in the air now after the Colorado visit. The coaches told me I could start early there and that they don't have any wide receivers like me. I am visiting Florida Atlantic this weekend and everything is equal between the three teams."
The receiver had not been contacted by CU at all, until about two weeks ago. "They came out of nowhere. Coach Hawkins started calling a couple weeks ago after my dad sent them my tape."
Coach Hawkins and receivers coach Eric Kiesau will be in his home, tonight.
Lang carries a 2.5 core GPA and scored an 850 on the old SAT. He would like to major in Business.
