Colorado officially offered B.J. Beatty last week on an in-home visit from Defensive Coordinator, Ron Collins, and after a weekend trip to Boise State, he came home and committed to the Buffs.
took a weekend trip to Boise State
and then came home and spoke about his college decision with his parents. "I talked to my parents and let them know I wanted to go to Colorado
," Beatty explained. "I just felt that they had more to offer. I called Coach Cabral and let him know that that is where I want to be. He told me they also got a commitment from another kid from out here, Michael Sipili
, so that was good to know. I don't know him personally but have heard about him."
Beatty has some clear goals for his time at CU. "I want to come in as a freshman and see where I stand. If they need to redshirt me that is fine. I can learn more and get ready to play the next year. My goal is to help get the team to big bowl games."
Beatty will play linebacker at CU. As a senior, he had 17 sacks and was named first team all-state and state defensive player of the year. "I get mentally prepared for every game by studying my opponent. The physical part comes naturally. It is the mental part that separates me."
