Breaking News: Hawk Visits Borders at School

CU Head Coach Dan Hawkins went by Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky today to attempt to secure the commitment of CU offensive tackle prospect, Quintin Borders. The lineman was contemplating a visit to Texas this weekend and Kansas State was also making a late run. Right after Coach Hawkins left the school, Kansas State came by with a scholarship offer putting the full court press on the CU commit.

"I just wanted to let you know that Coach Hawkins just came by my school," Quintin Borders notified the Buffalo Sports News. "He sat down and spoke with me, my dad, my offensive line coach, and the principal. I told him I am solid with Colorado and that is where I am going."

Then things got a little sticky. "Kansas State came by right after Coach Hawkins left and offered me a full ride scholarship and wanted me to visit this weekend. I told them that I was sold on Colorado and said thanks, but no thanks. They were not going away easy. They kept telling me that I should have something to compare Colorado with and shouldn't just take one trip and decide. But whatever, I am going to Colorado so I won't be tripping anywhere else. I won't be taking a trip to Texas, either."
