The state's leading rusher is still looking for a home and it is not because of grade issues. Corey Nabors has yet to receive a scholarship offer. He may walk-on.

As a senior, Corey Nabors had 2,587 yards rushing and 30 touchdowns. he led the state in rushing.

As a junior, he led the state in rushing in the 5A class with 2,335 yards and 30 touchdowns on 286 carries. He was named second team all-state.

Nabors has great grades with a 3.5 core GPA and a score of 25 on the ACT.

So the question is, why has he not received an offer? "I have no idea," a frustrated Nabors said. "I have had teams tell me I could walk-on like Colorado and Colorado State. But I have not received any offers. I am going to wait until signing day to see what happens. Wyoming and Idaho State have been showing a little attention so we'll see."

Nabors spoke with Coach Hagan two nights ago. "He told me they might want me to come up for a visit and go from there. I am waiting to hear from him, again."

New Coach Dan Hawkins had a history of offering walk-on players scholarships when he was at Boise State. Nabors seems to fit the mold of the kind of walk-ons he would be interested in.

Rangeview head coach Dave Gonzales says of Nabors, "He is a physically strong kid and he has a great work ethic. He could play both ways, but we let him focus on offense. Corey is also a great student."

Talk about this on the Ralphie's Den MESSAGE BOARD.
