As a junior, Ronnie Fouch threw for almost 2,400 yards with 34 touchdowns, and had only four interceptions (65% completion percentage). He led East Valley to an unbeaten Citrus Belt league title and the CIF Quarterfinals. Fouch earned first team all-league, area and county honors. He was also a second team all-state under-class selection. He injured his shoulder in the final regular season game, but is 100 percent for his team's spring ball.
Fouch claims to be a winner through and through. "I am a leader," he states emphatically. "I am the kind of guy I want the whole team to rely on. I just go out there and make plays. I am not worried about who is watching or what my stats are - all I care about is winning. My goal is just to throw the ball hard and get my team to a win."
The Southern California prospect is receiving a heavy dose of early attention even though he has not yet received his first scholarship offer. "I am hearing from a lot of schools right now and I am interested in a lot of schools. I like Stanford, Notre Dame, UCLA, Washington, Cal, Arizona, and Arizona State. I have also been hearing a lot from Colorado - I like them, too."
Fouch does not claim any favorites, but he is not shy about declaring a 'dream school'. "Notre Dame would be my dream school. I have always wanted to play there."
However, the Fighting Irish are not amongst the schools throwing the most correspondence in his direction. "I am hearing the most from Stanford, UCLA, the Arizona schools, and Colorado."
He spoke with CU linebackers coach Brian Cabral over the weekend. "He just wanted to touch base with me. He told me to call or text message him anytime. I know Colorado has the new coach from Boise State and they passed a lot when he was there. Boise actually sent me my first recruiting letter when I was a sophomore so I have known about them and that staff for a while now. I have not yet researched Colorado and what they have to offer but I am going to."
Recently, Fouch attended the San Diego State and UCLA Junior Days'. Next up, he will take in the USC Junior Day. "I am also going to the Scout.com combine in Southern California (Sunday, May 7th at Citrus College) and I will be at the elite 11 try-outs."
There are a few certain ingredients that he is looking for in his college of choice. "First, I want a good football program. I want a winning tradition and a school that has a history of sending players to the NFL. Next, I will be looking for academics. My mom is really interested in the academics that each school is offering. But really, both my parents are looking for me to go to a place I can play at for three or four years. I am looking for a good atmosphere for football. I want a place that is in a city that has good fan support for the team."
Fouch carries a 3.7 core GPA and is taking the ACT in April. He is undecided on a major.
