2007 CU Prospect: WR/SS Justin Salum

Justin Salum is looking for a big senior year after his junior season was cut very short by a ligament injury in his ankle. Salum attended the CU summer camp last year and says the old staff was very interested in his services after the performance. Colorado is in his early top three. Salum is the nephew of former University of Arizona standout, and Atlanta Falcon Linebacker Donnie Salum.

Justin Salum was injured in the first quarter of his second game during his junior season. He tore a ligament in his right ankle. Before that, he rushed for 250 yards and had 100 yards receiving. He will play Wide Receiver or Strong Safety for Corona Del Sol and projects at either position for college.

He claims to be back to 100% after the injury. "Everything is looking good now - it feels fine."

Salum does not care what side of the ball he plays on, but it sounds like he could be a formidable threat on offense. "I have good vision, power and I can really catch the rock. I have good hands."

Salum grew up in Arizona and his Uncle played for U of A. "I have always liked them. I pretty much grew up a Wildcat. I recently went to their junior day and everything went real good. I am also really liking Colorado and Miami. Those are my top three.

"I was born in Colorado and I still have a lot of family here. In fact, I am here visiting them right now. I went to CU's camp last summer and I really impressed the old staff. I hope I can impress the new staff just as much."

Salum carries a 3.5 core GPA and is taking the ACT in April. He would like to major in Business.
