Top D-Tackle Prospect Listing the Buffs

The question many a Buff fan has been wondering is if the new staff can deliver the top d-tackle recruits that have been so elusive over the last few years. Colorado's depth at the position is horrid and has been for the better part of the last decade. This is one of the main reasons that CU has not fielded a nationally respected defense since the mid-90's. The new staff wants to change that and they are telling D-tackle recruits like Myles Wade that they want them to be a part of something.

As a junior, Miles Wade racked up 55 tackles, eight sacks, three forced fumbles, and a safety. Wade was named first team all-league and honorable mention all-state.

He has current written offers from Oregon and Oregon State. "I hope to get some more attention after the Stanford Nike Camp this week," Wade explained. "I am also going to a Scout combine soon so I am trying to showcase my talents wherever I can."

The entire CU staff will be at this weekend's combine in Palo Alto and they have recently been in contact with Wade. "I spoke with Coach Hawkins and Bandison last week. Coach Hawkins told me he thinks I could really make an impact at the University of Colorado and be a good asset on their defense. Coach Bandison told me that he wants to build a defensive line so strong there that they will have a nickname. He wants to build something that people will remember and he wants me to be a part of that."

Wade is listing seven schools. "Oregon and Oregon State are my favorites. It is mainly because they are my two offers but also I wouldn't mind having my parents be able to watch me play. So staying in-state would be nice or even staying in the Pac Ten. However, I am open to leaving the state and the Pac Ten. We'll just see what happens. I also like UCLA, Washington, Colorado, Cal, and Penn State."

In addition to the aforementioned combines, Wade plans on attending The Eugene Nike Camp and the Oregon elite camp.

He carries a 2.8 core GPA and took the SAT last week. He is thinking of becoming a Personal Trainer so he may major in Sports Fitness.
