Will CU Offer CA RB Today? (free content)

The Colorado staff seems to be all over the globe these days. Today, a staff member is stopping by Canyon High School in Canyon Country, California where an offer could be extended to a running back the staff appears to be coveting. The BSN has the scoop!

As a junior, J.J. DiLuigi put up monster numbers. He rushed for 1,870 yards on 261 carries and scored 37 touchdowns in helping lead Canyon to the CIF Division II title. He also had 33 receptions for 519 yards and five touchdowns. On special teams, he added 514 yards on 17 returns, including a 99-yard return for a touchdown. DiLuigi's 43 touchdowns on the year was a Foothill League record. He was named the Foothill League Player of the Year while also earning the Division II Player of the Year award and first team all-state under-class honors.

His nose for the end zone has earned him one early written offer, from BYU. He believes a second offer could come as soon as today. "Coach Hagan from Colorado is coming by the school today and he has told me he might offer."

The Buffs are in the thick of things for DiLuigi. "BYU is my favorite," he explains. "I went to their junior day and they offered. My parents also really like them and what they stand for. I also like Colorado, Colorado State, Oregon, Oregon State, and Washington State.

"I don't know too much about Colorado as a school or what the campus life is like, but I do know that they have extra-curricular activities when it comes to the outdoors. I really like fishing and snowboarding. Coach Hagan and I have talked a lot and I like everything he has to tell me."

DiLuigi is planning on visiting CU and a bunch of other campuses on his upcoming whirlwind tour. "The first couple weeks of the summer, my family and I are going to visit Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming, BYU, Utah, Utah State, Boise State, and Washington State. I want to check them all out so I can make a good decision."

Schools to come by Canyon recently to check in on the running back include Arizona, WSU, Nevada, Air Force, Washington, Oregon State, and UCLA.

DiLuigi carries a 3.03 core GPA and has already passed the SAT. He is thinking of a major in Business or Sports Marketing.

The BSN will stay with this story to update Buff fans on if an offer was extended, or not.

Talk about this on the Ralphie's Den MESSAGE BOARD.
