Davis Up to Seven Offers

Colorado fans are anxious to see what the latest with Drew Davis is and we have it. After blowing up at a recent combine, the in-state wide receiver has received six new offers. He is at CU today and has made a few recent trips to campus.

Drew Davis now claims written offers from Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas State, Washington, and Washington State. "I also have two more but I can't think of who they are right now," Davis explains. "UCLA might be one of them, I'd have to check."

Davis is excited to receive more. "I have not really gotten that 'big school' offer I am waiting for. I am looking forward to a USC or Michigan-type offer. Both those schools have told me that they don't like offering guys this early because usually when they offer this early, the kids will commit, and they need to make sure they are offering the right players. I totally understand that so I am being patient."

The receiver has the criteria intact for his school of choice. "I would like to play in a warm-weather place if I can. I want to go to a good conference or a place that has a good record. I want to see who is in front of me at my position and also what kind of quarterbacks are on the roster."

Davis is at the Rocky Mountain Combine today being held at CU. "I am going up there with some of my teammates. I also have to go up there next Monday for an interview with Tom Lemming. My Dad and Mom will go with me to that and we'll probably walk around campus afterwards."

The CU staff is still all over Davis. "Coach Hawkins came by the school last week and we just shook hands. I talk a lot with their staff. They have called me a couple times this month and are still pretty high on my list. I have been up to their practices and I can really relate with Coach Hawkins - he is like a friend. He is the type of coach that cares about you on the field and off the field, and I like that."

Davis insists that CU and K-State are recruiting him the hardest.

At this point, he does not plan on attending anymore camps or combines this summer. "I am just going to work on my routes and training this summer to make sure I am ready for the fall."

He has more plans for the fall than just catching touchdowns. "I plan on taking all five of my official visits. I will not commit on any visit unless I am absolutely sold on everything at the school and there is no need to look anywhere else."
