Buffs are Co-Leaders for Corona Defender

Colorado is going after linebackers from coast-to-coast this fall. The CU staff has offered many a head-hunter and are in a good position with a handful. One of the offered ones they are in a strong position for is Corona defender Nate Vaiomounga.

Height: 6-0
Weight: 200

Bench: 315
Squat: 545
Clean: 335
From: Corona, California
High School: Corona

As a junior, mainly playing at defensive end, Nate Vaiomounga recorded 76 tackles, four sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. "I love to play the game full speed," he insists. "I am fast and aggressive."

The Corona defender will obviously not be a defensive end at the next level with his diminutive size for the position. "Schools are recruiting me as a linebacker."

It would also seem that Vaiomounga would be a good fit as a strong safety.

Currently, he has written offers from Arizona, Boise State, Colorado, and San Diego State. "Arizona and Colorado are my co-leaders right now. I do not have either one of them ahead of the other.

"Colorado's assistant linebackers coach Andy Avalos played at Corona so there is a connection there with him. He comes back here from time-to-time and helps out. I spoke with Coach Cabral last month and he told me that he wants me to be a part of the family there. I have not checked out Colorado yet but I will be scheduling and official visit there real soon."

Vaiomounga carries a 2.83 core GPA and has not yet received his test score.
