As a junior, Nathan Bussey quarterbacked Dunbar to a 9-2 record and the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association Title. On the year, he completed 125-of-218 passes (57%) for 2,543 yards, 37 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns. "I am athletic and I can step in and do things other people can't do," Bussey boasts.
The athlete has current written offers from Fordham, Illinois, Kent State, Temple, and Towson State. "My top schools are Illinois, UCLA, Michigan State, Stanford, Connecticut, and Colorado. I would say UCLA is my leader followed by Illinois."
Bussey says the Illini are recruiting him the hardest. Illinois and UCLA like him as an athlete. "Those two say I could play a few places for them. Everyone else likes me as a quarterback. I am open-minded and will play wherever the teams needs me."
In May, he received a call from CU Offensive Coordinator Mark Helfrich. "I like the style of offense Colorado will be running. I would also like to get away from home."
Bussey has not yet scheduled any visits. "I will start setting up my trips, shortly."
He carries a 3.75 core GPA and has yet to receive his test scores back. Bussey would like to major in Communications.
