JC Quarterback Favors Colorado

The quarterback position at the University of Colorado has been a topic of much debate recently. With two unproven seniors for next fall at the top of the depth chart, the CU staff may opt to recruit a JC Quarterback and there is one they have already told they will be keeping an eye on.

Height: 6-0 1/2

Bench: 250
Squat: 405
Junior College: Los Angeles Pierce
High School: Incline HS in Incline Village, Nevada

Christian Spaulding was a full qualifer out of Incline High School in Incline Village, Nevada. He attended L.A. Pierce to get more recognition coming from a very small high school. As a freshman, second on the depth chart, he completed 14-30 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns.

Spaulding is a true sophomore and a December graduate. He will be at his school of choice by Spring of '07 with three years to play two.

After a couple of strong performances this summer at JCFootball.com combines he received a written offer from Missouri Southern State. "That is my only offer right now," Spaulding explains. "Colorado is my number one school. I spoke with (Recruiting Coordinator) Robert Tucker after I sent them an e-mail expressing my interest. He told me they will be taking a look at me this fall. I visited Colorado last year to check out the campus. I like the offense they run and think that I could fit in well there. They have a senior and two juniors there right now. Next year it will just be Bernard Jackson, Brian White and the coach's son. I think I could come in and compete."

Other schools Spaulding likes, in order, are Nevada, San Diego State and Fresno State. He has not scheduled any official visits yet.

What kind of signal caller is he? "I am a great short-passer. I am very accurate on anything within 20 yards. I also have great touch on the long ball. I can get out of the pocket and throw on the run."

Pierce gets their season underway against Mt. San Jacinto College on September 2nd.
