Tello now a "Soft" Commit to CU

It happens every year in recruiting. Players will commit to a school early without having visited them and then decide they should explore their options a little more thoroughly. Such is the case with current CU commit, offensive lineman Adam Tello from Norco, California. He took an unoffical visit to Arizona over the weekend and is planning on taking a couple officials.

Adam Tello committed to Colorado about a month ago and is already re-thinking that decision. "I am still committed to Colorado but I want to take some trips and see what else is out there," Tello explains.

One of the main reasons he committed is because his teammate, O-lineman Garth Gerhart, had previously committed to the Buffs and he wanted to go on to the next level with him. "(Gerhart) went there (on an unofficial to Boulder) and he loved it," Tello previously told the Buffalo Sports News. "I like working with him. I know if we go to the same school, I'll keep my head on straight," Tello joked.

A weekend unofficial visit to Arizona has confused things for the future offensive guard/tackle prospect. "My unofficial to Arizona was nice. I went down there with my cousin and liked it. I was just checking the place out. I might go back there for an official visit because they've offered me."

He is also interested in visiting Arizona State and Oregon, but has yet to line those trips up. Oregon has offered, but ASU says they are waiting on his summer schools transcripts before doing so.

Is his teammate considering more visits? "No, Garth is strong and solid with Colorado."

Andy Avalos is recruiting Tello for the Buffs. "Last time I spoke with him was before our game on Friday. We won a nailbiter 21-20 over Los Altos. We are 4-0 on the season now."

Tello figures he is averaging eight pancake blocks a game. He and Gerhart have scheduled their official visits to Boulder for the Kansas State game, November 4th.
