Wood has Two at the Top

Colorado is picking up a lot of steam on the recruiting trail. Despite the Buffs' 1-6 record, the team has actually played well and the CU staff is doing more with recruiting than they have in years. A player who they are hard after is defensive tackle Nick Wood from Poway, California. Here is the latest with the top SoCal prospect.

Height: 6-2 1/2
Weight: 275
40 time: 4.97
Vertical: "29
From: Poway, California
High School: Poway

Nick Wood has already visited Boston College and Arizona State. He visited Colorado for the ASU game and has a visit scheduled with Washington for November. Wood will make his last visit to either North Carolina State or Wake Forest. "It will be one of those schools--or maybe Utah--unless some other school comes in on me I am real interested in," Wood explains.

As far as his first three visits go, two stand out. "I would say ASU and Colorado are at the top. Those two are pretty close for me and I really like both programs, a lot."

He had a great trip to Boulder which was his second go-round. "I really like the academic people there and the educational opportunities. I really like Coach Hawkins and the whole staff. I think good things are in store for them in the future."

The big defensive tackle listed the highlights of his trip as seeing Ralphie, having dinner witht he coaches and the game itself.

He will not make a final decision on a college until all trips have been completed. "After taking all my trips I will sit down with my family and talk about it and then come up with a choice."
