Illinois DE Visiting This Weekend

Colorado is looking to take up to four more defensive lineman in this class. A player that could be a future defensive end is Nickcaro Golding from Evanston, Illinois. Golding has a good list of offers so the Buffs will be in for a battle. CU gets a shot at him this weekend.

Evanston Twp did not have a great season finishing at 4-5, but Nickcaro Golding had a great season with around 100 tackles and 14 sacks. At tight end, he had six catches for 60 yards and a score. "I play hard and I play fast," Golding claims.

He has written offers from Colorado, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State, Purdue, and West Virginia. "Those are the main ones. I have a few others from smaller schools."

Golding already visited Purdue and now has Colorado this weekend. "Colorado wants me as an outside linebacker. I am being recruited there by Coach Cabral. I know he played pro ball and won a championship with the Chicago Bears. I also know he has put a lot of players into the league. Linebackers is supposed to be what Colorado is known for. I like their program. I liked them more when they were winning but my coach thinks they are back on the right track."

He will visit West Virginia on December 1st and Wisconsin on December 15th. "I think I will decide between those four. If Michigan offers, I will visit there. I am really liking West Virginia right now. My mom wants me to go to Purdue because it is close."

Golding has a lot of upside. Last year was his first year playing football and he earned all-league honors. He moved from Jamaica in the 7th grade.

He carries a 2.5 core GPA and scored a 19 on the ACT.

The BSN will speak with him after the visit for his thoughts.
