Colorado After Hudgins the Hardest

Colorado was the second visit for Highland CC Defensive End Drew Hudgins. After a weekend trip to Boulder, Hudgins will now take another three trips and then make his final decision. CU looks to be a strong candidate for his services.

As a sophomore this season, Drew Hudgins had 92 tackles, 19 sacks and eight passes broken up. He was named first team all-conference. He did not play last year as he took a medical red-shirt. He did play as a freshman. Hudgins is graduating in December and will head to his college of choice in spring of '07. He will then have two years to play two.

The defensive end took a visit to North Carolina State on the weekend of November 4th and he visited CU last weekend. "I liked my trip to Colorado a lot," Hudgins said. "I liked the staff there and the way the program is ran. I think they are going to be very good in the future."

CU is currently the defensive end's only offer, but that could change real soon. "Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Ole Miss are coming in on me. I am going to take my final three visits to three of those four schools and then make a decision. Colorado is my only offer right now and I have verbal offers from North Carolina, North Carolina State and Connecticut."

Coach Bandison is after Hudgins for the Buffs. The D-end claims no favorite right now. "I don't have a leader. I would say that UNC and Colorado are showing me the most attention. Colorado has two seniors at D-end so they need some help there."

Junior College signing date is December 20th.
