Kayne Farquharson Update

Kayne Farquharson led El Camino to the California Junior College Championship this past Saturday with three touchdowns on his way to being named the game's MVP. The Miami commit officially visited Boulder a couple weeks ago and since then Miami's head coach was fired. Will he still sign with the Canes or are the Buffs now a little more in the picture?

Kayne Farquharson visited Boulder a couple weeks ago on a one-day visit. When he came in the students were off campus due to the Thanksgiving Holiday and the trip was therefore not too eventful. This dampered the trip a little bit for Farquharson who couldn't come in for a whole weekend due to El Camino's playoff run. That run ended this past weekend as the receiver paced his squad with three touchdowns en route to a 49-35 win over CC of San Franscisco.

Farquharson had five receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown, one rush of 10 yards for a touchdown, and a kickoff return for a score.

Being from Miami and a Hurricanes commit, it would be a tough feat for any team to come in and pull Farquharson away from the Canes. It does not look like anyone will be able to pull the dynamic wideout away from the clutches of South Florida. "I know they changed coaches, but it seems like Coach Shannon will be keeping most of the staff there and my recruiting coach (wide receivers coach Marquis Mosely) has been in contact with me," he explained. "I have not spoken with Coach Shannon yet.

So despite CU sending six coaches to El Camino to see Farquharson last week, it does not sound like the Buffs are in the running anymore. When asked if CU was out of it for his services the receiver responded, "Pretty much."

He does not plan on making any other visits as he was thinking of taking a trip to Arizona.
