David Richmond was scheduled to visit Colorado over the weekend but the CU staff canceled at the last minute due to Coach Hawkins leaving town on short notice. He is going to attempt to trip to CU before JC signing date on December 20th.

"Coach Kiesau called me last week to tell me that Coach Hawkins was called to go to some sort of state meeting at the last minute," were the words of four star receiver David Richmond from Santa Ana Junior College. "Coach said that they didn't want to bring me in without Hawkins being there. I am going to go to San Diego State this weekend and then try to get to Colorado sometime before the 20th. If I decide to not sign then I will also be visiting Oregon on January 12th. They offered me a couple weeks ago. But, I would prefer to sign on the 20th."

Richmond already visited San Jose State. "Right now my decision is between San Jose State, San Diego State, Oregon, and Colorado. I do not have a favorite."

After missing the majority of his freshman season due to a hurt ankle, David Richmond bounced back this year with authority. He ended up with 58 catches for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns. Santa Ana finished the season with a bowl game loss to Glendale.

The BSN will speak with Richmond again sometime next week to see if he will indeed visit Boulder before the 20th. CU recently picked up three wide receivers in this recruiting class, (Josh Smith, Kendrick Celestine, Markques Simas) but it is believed the staff was still interested in bringing in a JC wideout.
