As a senior, Devan Johnson had two touchdowns on offense. He was named honorable mention all-conference at wide receiver. "I am not sure what my final stats were but I know I had those two touchdowns," Johnson explained." He played at running back, fullback, tight end, H-back, receiver, linebacker, and defensive end."
The future Buff led Woodland Hills into the state quarter-finals before falling.
Johnson committed to Colorado shortly before visitng Boulder for the Baylor game, October 7th. Before choosing the Buffs, he had offers from Akron, Kent State and Temple. "I am still hearing from Temple and now Ol Miss has spoken with me. Their coach came by the school and grabbed a highlight tape. He said later that they really liked it. But, I am more than likely done with recruiting."
Coach Hawkins and Coach Riddle are supposed to come by his house late this week or next week. "They just want to talk to me about their plans. They want to use me as an H-back so they can do different things with me on the field."
Johnson is excited about what he is hearing about CU's recruiting class. The class is currently ranked no.13 in the nation by Scout.com. "I am expecting to go there and do big things. I want to help get Coach Hawk a national title in the next four to five years."
As far as grades go, the future Buff back-fielder is halfway home. "I am okay with my core credits. My GPA is a 2.5 and improving. I have to take the SAT again in January. I am only 100 points away from where I need to be. I'll be okay."
