As a junior, in seven games, Jon Major had 107 tackles (15 for losses), three forced fumbles and one interception. He missed four games due to an ankle sprain. Major was a first team all-league selection. "I have great instincts and smarts on the field," boasts Major.
Schools are recruiting him as a middle linebacker.
The linebacker's father was an honorable mention all-american tight end at Rice.
His family is originally from Southern California so they are real high on the Trojans. USC was the main school Major followed growing up. "My grandfather went to school there. USC sent me a camp invite so I will probably go out there this summer."
The Buffs haven't offered, but the CU staff seems very interested. "I have spoken with coaches Hawk, Collins and Cabral. They text me a lot. They said that they want to get to know me better as a person before they offer."
Major plans on attending quite a few camps this summer and has no time-table for a decision. "I want to see what schools offer me before I come to any kind of decision."
He carries a 3.7 core GPA and scored a 28 on the Pre-ACT. He would like to major in Business or Engineering.
