Florida D-End Prospect Changes CU Date

Colorado would like another defensive end in this class. The Buffs expect visits from a couple more before signing day comes. Marquiste Ramos was supposed to visit this weekend but has changed his visit date to late January. The Florida D-end has seen his stock on the rise lately after a strong playoff performance and a good showing in the East-West All-Star game practices.

As a senior, Marquiste Ramos gathered 99 tackles, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles. He had a solid playoff performance in the first round of the playoffs with 14 tackles. He was named first team all-conference and district.

His showing in the playoffs has some bigger schools coming in on him. "I might visit Louisville now and West Virginia has been calling me lately," Ramos explained. "Some schools have watched me in the practices for the East-West All-Star game and they have been impressed."

He currently has written offers from Colorado, Bethune-Cookman, Sam Houston State, Florida International, and Murray State. "Temple also likes me and I have a visit with them in January. I will also visit Sam Houston State in January."

The Buffs are on top right now. "Of the schools that have offered, I like Colorado the most. They are the biggest one to offer me. They like me as a defensive end. Some schools like me at linebacker. I hear Colorado is a good program and I want to find out more about them."

He is in contact with a trio of CU coaches. "Coach Hawkins writes me and I speak often with Coaches Bandison and Brown. I spoke with them last week. I was supposed to visit there this weekend but my date has been changed to January 27th."

Ramos carries a 2.4 core GPA and scored a 17 on the ACT. He recently took it again and will find out the re-take score in the near future.
