From: San Marcos, California
High School: Mission Hills
Jamaar Jarrett has started since his freshman year for San Marcos and has been a two-time all-league selection as a defensive end. He also plays along the offensive line, at guard, for the Grizzlies. He was an all-combine selection at the 2006 L.A. Scout.com Combine. Jarrett had nine sacks as a junior.
Jarrett's top two are the local schools. "I would say right now that USC has a slight lead over UCLA. I speak with the 'SC Defensive Line coach all the time and I am going to their junior day. I will probably go to both schools' junior days and their summer camps. Other than that, I do not have any other plans right now."
Despite his fondness for the SoCal schools, Jarrett does say he would have no problem with leaving the area. "I really don't have a preference where I play. I have been to almost every state and I really like to travel. I might go on a visit and like that school more than the two schools I am familiar with. I am looking forward to going on visits."
The Defensive End does admit an interest in the Buffs although he doesn't know too much about CU right now. "I haven't visited there so I still need to get more info on the school. From what I do know about Colorado, it looks like a nice campus and I like the mountains in the background. The stadium is also nice. The Head Coach has sent me some handwritten letters but I have not spoken with any of their staff yet."
Jarrett carries a 3.67 GPA and is scheduled to take both tests in March.
