Pro Timing Day Notes/Measurements

Twenty-one NFL scouts/coaches/player personnel types were at CU Friday for the school's annual Pro Timing Day. Ten Buffs took part in a variety of speed, strength and agility drills, trying to impress would-be employers. Inside, notes from the activities.

• Three Buffs — Mason Crosby, Mark Fenton and Abraham Wright — took part in the NFL Combine in February. All three were present Friday, but each elected to participate in only selected measurements.

Fenton tweaked a calf muscle at the NFL Combine, and it flared up again Friday, so he didn't run a 40. He was a trim 281 pounds, and his 36-inch vertical was one of the more impressive numbers of the day. But nagging injuries tend to worry scouts.

Wright had lost seven pounds from his combine weight, and at least one scout asked him how that happened. Turns out, they weigh you at the Combine on a different day from when you run, so he had eaten a couple big meals before he was weighed in Indianapolis.

Wright is a tricky prospect. He spent most of his career at CU at defensive end, where he showed he could rush the passer. But the NFL is split on whether he will get a shot at DE or linebacker at the next level. He was run through LB pass coverage paces Friday, and appeared to move well, as his speed times indicate.

Wright, whose agent is Tom Mills, will be in Boulder until the end of the month, then plans to head home to Oklahoma. He's hoping to snag some individual workouts with teams, too.

Crosby was measured, then kicked for scouts.

Terry Washington turned in the fastest 40, short shuttle, 3-cone and 60y shuttle times on the day. He was also worked out as a receiver by one of the scouts.

• Thaddaeus Washington is still nursing an ankle or foot injury and didn't partake in any running. He's gunning for some individual workouts an will probably get some.

Brian Daniels stood out as having a good workout. He's a legit 6-4, 300-pound offensive line prospect, and his speed showed decently. He and Fenton (once his calf settled down) worked out for a long time doing OL drills with Mike Barry (former CU OL coach now with Detroit) and a guy from the New York Giants.

• Former Colorado prep quarterback Alan Webb, who played at Kansas State until just prior to last season, was at the workout. He was measured, but didn't partake in any of the drills. He threw some for scouts on the practice field.

Measurements and times below are per the CU SID, who got the stats from scouts. Not all players participated in each category. If a certain category is missing from a player's list, that means he elected not to do the category.
