Quick Hitter: Kendrick Celestine

Kendrick Celestine got to Boulder less than a week ago. Already, the new surroundings have made an impression on the wide receiver from Louisiana.

Kendrick Celestine was recruited to CU out of Mamou, La. He comes to the Buffaloes with a reputation as a speedy wide out, an aspect that showed up during Thursday evening's 7 on 7 workout.

Celestine is one of a trio of freshmen wide outs, including Markques Simas (who will room with Celestine) and Josh Smith, that coaches say have an opportunity to earn playing time in their first seasons in Boulder.

BSN spoke briefly with Celestine on Friday.

BSN: When did you get into town?
I got into town Saturday night

BSN: What's your first impressions?
My first impression is how nice everybody is and how my teammates treat me – I feel right at home.

BSN: How much have you been working out?
Actually yesterday was my first day of working out. I had to get through my physical and all that.

BSN: Ridiculously early to ask this, but what are your expectations for this fall camp and the season?
I'm just trying to get into the offense and learn the plays and go from there. I'm basically just trying to learn the formations and see how everything is put together. How the offense is run.
