Freeman took an unofficial visit to Boulder over the summer. According to Freeman's father, Ben, who is also head football coach at Pelion, Dalton "really likes it there."
The senior at Pelion is trying to set up an official visit to Colorado. The Sept. 15 game vs. Florida State is a possibility.
The Palmetto State standout has double-digit offers. Home state Clemson was the first to offer.
In March, Freeman told Scout.com a good relationship with his college position coach will play a big role in his ultimate decision.
"I'm going to have to feel comfortable and at home, wherever that is," he said. "I want to have a really good relationship with the offensive line coach. A lot of times guys are recruited by people who aren't going to be their position coach. That's who your daddy is going to be for four or five years, so it's a huge deal. Obviously I want to play for a good head coach at a big-time program too."
