Hicks On Board With Buffs

Stephen Hicks, a 3-star safety prospect from Whitehouse, Texas, was one of five players in Boulder on official visits this past weekend. Hicks liked what he saw.

Stephen Hicks joined safety Vince Ewing, running back Darrell Scott, offensive lineman Max Tuioti-Mariner and linebacker R.J. Young on official visits to Boulder this past weekend.

Hicks' Whitehouse coach Randy McFarlin informed BSN Wednesday that Hicks has verbally committed to CU.

"He committed this past weekend," McFarlin wrote in an email.

Hicks' verbal brings the number of known commitments to 11 for Colorado.

The 6-1, 185-pound prospect chose the Buffs over offers from the likes of Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Hicks' Whitehouse Wildcats are 8-1 heading into Friday night's game with Nacogdoches.

Hicks averages six tackles, has five passes broken up and has rushed for 88 yards this season.
