Okla. WR/DB Wants To Visit Boulder

Ardmore (Plainview HS), Okla., two-way player Justin Blackmon has been receiving lots of recruiting interest the past month. He received a scholarship offer from Colorado two weeks ago and wants to visit Boulder.

Plainview High School has been playing lights out this fall. The Indians are 11-0 heading into Saturday night's first-round playoff game with Seminole.

One of the reasons Plainview, located in Ardmore, Okla., is having success this season is the play of Justin Blackmon. On offense, Blackmon has hauled in 49 catches for over 1,400 yards as a wide receiver.

Blackmon also plays cornerback and returns kicks. He's tallied 21 touchdowns this year, receiving, returning kicks and interceptions.

The 6-3, 190-pound athlete said he received a written offer from Colorado two weeks ago. Blackmon said he's being recruited by both CU receivers coach Eric Kiesau and secondary coach Greg Brown.

"They're looking at me for both (defensive back and receiver), really," he said.

Blackmon, who runs in the 4.5 range for the 40-yard dash, also has offers from Missouri and Northern Iowa.

"I probably won't make a decision until about Signing Day," said Blackmon, who could pick up more offers in the coming weeks.

One of the reasons Blackmon may have been under many teams' radar is that he didn't hit the summer camp circuit like many college prospects do. He went to a football camp at the University of Oklahoma over the summer, but that was it.

Blackmon said he wants to take an official visit to Colorado in December.

"Hopefully, some time next month, after the playoffs are over," he said.
