Bzdelik Addresses Bulls Opening

CU head men's basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik released a statement Wednesday regarding speculation he could develop interest in the Chicago Bulls' coaching job.

Chicago GM John Paxson is in the midst of a coaching search, and two Chicago-area news outlets reported that Jeff Bzdelik is on a list of coaches Paxson may want to talk to about the vacancy. Bzdelik is in Orlando this week to watch Richard Roby take part in a pre-NBA Draft camp. Paxson is reportedly in Orlando, as well.

Wednesday, Bzdelik seemed to want to put to rest any speculation that he would pursue the Bulls job.

"I am honored that one of the premier organizations in all of sport, the Chicago Bulls, would consider me as a candidate for their head coaching position," Bzdelik said via the CU sports information department. "However, my staff and I remain deeply committed to re-establishing Colorado basketball as a consistent winner."
