Sumler loves new "downhill" run game

Demetrius Sumler ended his sophomore season last fall as the Buffs' featured running back, in part, because of injuries to others but also because he began to blossom into a hard-nosed ball carrier. He hopes to build on that when spring ball opens this week. Get inside for more.

There is no doubt Sumler will face stiff competition for playing time with sophomores Darrell Scott, Brian Lockridge and Rodney Stewart healthy again after injuries slowed them in the fall. But he is eager to see how he stacks up.

Sumler spent a few minutes with Scout.com today talking things over next to the Heisman Trophy in the CU trophy room at the Dal Ward Center.
