Can Buffs Build Off Kansas Win?

Was the Buffs win over then #6 ranked Kansas a fluke? If the Buffs go out and get blown out in their next few games many will believe it was. The road to respectability begins tonight when the Buffs take on Bob Knight and the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Here's a preview.

The Colorado men's basketball team (12-5, 2-2 Big 12) travels to face Texas Tech (11-5, 1-3) at 7:15 p.m. in the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas.

BROADCAST: The game will be broadcast on KKZN radio (760 am) with Larry Zimmer and Jay Leeuwenburg. The game will not be televised in the Denver metro area.

SERIES: Colorado leads the series 14-5, which includes a 6-3 edge in Lubbock.

KEY STAT: Colorado is 1-9 in its last 10 Big 12 road games.

CU UPDATE: This is the second in a pivotal four-game stretch for the Buffs. The remaining two games are Saturday at Missouri and Tuesday at home against Texas. The stretch began with a win last Wednesday over then No. 6 Kansas. ... Blair Wilson has at least one 3-pointer in 21 straight games, dating back to last season. ... Forward Michel Morandais is the only Buff to have scored in double figures in every game this season.

TEXAS TECH UPDATE: Forward Kasib Powell has scored at least 20 in seven of his last 10 meetings. ... Texas Tech has lost two straight games, its longest losing streak of the season. The Red Raiders have never lost three straight games in the Bob Knight era. ... Oklahoma State snapped Texas Tech's 13-game home winning streak with a 79-70 victory in Lubbock on Sunday.

UP NEXT: Colorado continues its road swing with a 2 p.m. game on Saturday against Missouri at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo., before returning home to face Texas on Tuesday.
