CU Men Have Huge Task Vs Texas

BOULDER, Colorado (Ticker) -- Third-ranked Texas hopes to move into a first-place tie in the Big 12 Conference when it visits Colorado on Tuesday.

The Longhorns (14-3, 5-1 Big 12) bounced back from a loss at Kansas with a 78-65 home triumph over Oklahoma State on Saturday.

T.J. Ford and Royal Ivey scored 17 points apiece and James Thomas added 13 and 16 rebounds as the Longhorns snapped the Cowboys' 15-game winning streak.

Texas is one-half game behind both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the conference standings.

Colorado (12-7, 2-4) has lost three of its last four contests, including a 73-70 setback at Missouri on Saturday.

Michel Morandais nailed a 3-pointer with 7.2 seconds left that got the team within one point but missed a potential game-tying shot from the arc with one second left.

Morandais scored 18 points and Blair Wilson 16 in the defeat.

Texas is 7-5 all time against Colorado, including 6-0 under Rick Barnes.
